The sixth meeting of the Joint Steering Committee was held in Szeged, (Hungary) on 27–28 July 2010. Representatives from Hungary and Romania made decisions on the 280 project applications which have been received during the third Call for Proposals.
As a result, 80 new projects were approved for funding in the framework of the HURO Programme requesting about 10.5 million Euro co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), completed by the state co-financing of the two member states and the own contribution of the applicants. This means that we already have almost 180 selected projects!
As many as 45 projects are on the reserve list. In their case the decision of the Joint Monitoring Committee is needed regarding the allocation of the necessary funds, which is foreseen this Autumn.
The 80 approved projects involve almost 180 partner organisations from both countries. In 45 cases the Lead Partners are from Hungary and in 35 cases from Romania.
The division of Lead Partners by counties is available below:
Projects were submitted under the two main priorities: improvement of the key conditions of joint, sustainable development of the cooperation area (Improvement of cross-border transport, communication and environmental protection) and strengthening social and economic cohesion of the border area (Cooperation in the fields of business, R+D, education, labour market, health care and risk management, people-to people activities).
